ASSURED LEARNING DRIVING SCHOOL TERMS & CONDITIONS 

Tuition

Tuition is only available to persons who meet the following criteria: 

• • Aged 17 or over or aged 16 or over and in receipt of the higher rate of Disability Living Allowance (mobility component); and 
  • Hold a valid UK provisional driving licence; and 
  • Legally entitled to drive in the UK. 

Cancellation of Lessons

If you wish to cancel a lesson, a minimum of 48 hours prior notice should be given.  If Assured Learning Driving School cancels a lesson without giving this minimum period of notice, your instructor shall rearrange the lesson. 

Cancellations by you must be made by contacting Assured Learning Driving School between the hours of 8am and 8pm. 
If you do not provide at least 48 hours notice of cancellation you will be charged for the lesson(s) concerned. 

Assured Learning Driving School will wait for 15 minutes from the start time of the lesson.  Beyond this time the lesson will be deemed to have been cancelled and the fee for the entire period of the booking is forfeit. 

Lessons that start late, through the client’s fault, will finish at the time of the original booking and will be charged for at the full hourly rate. 

Training Location

All sessions will start and finish at the same location unless alternative arrangements are made in advance. 

Assured Learning Driving School will determine a location for practical lessons which ensures both the pupil’s and public safety – this means that the instructor may need to drive the pupil to and from the lesson location; this journey time forms part of the lesson as paid for. 

Driving Tests and Bookings

During a clients tuition the instructor will assess readiness for the driving test with a progress report.
Prior to booking a test, a discussion with the instructor is required.

This will include but not limited to consideration that the client does not need prompts from the instructor, does not make serious or dangerous mistakes when driving, can pass a mock driving tests, has practised ways of managing nerves and the driving instructor agrees that you are ready.

Assured Learning Driving School reserves the right to refuse use of a driving school vehicle for test if the instructor considers that provision of a vehicle could cause a risk to public safety. 

Where the Assured Learning Driving School car is used for a test, the booking period will be based upon the instructor’s normal diary schedule.  Booking of your test should be made in conjunction with your instructor.

Assured Learning Driving School cannot be held responsible for test appointments cancelled by the DVSA due to bad weather, sickness, staff shortages or other reasons.  Such cancellations are beyond the control of your instructor and therefore the lesson fee and ‘use of car’ fee for the booked period will be charged.  Assured Learning Driving School will advise about claiming compensation from the DVSA .
