Data Protection Policy

This policy informs you of your rights in compliance with the general data protection regulation (GDPR). Assured Learning Driving School respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data.  

Assured Learning Driving School is owned and run by Anthony Mullen. This Policy outlines how we collect and process your personal information and provides you with information regarding our obligations and your rights in compliance with the GDPR. 

Information that we may collect from you

During normal business, we may collect data from you during telephone conversations, visiting our website, email or text and social media messages. We will email, call or contact you after your initial enquiry in order to follow up on your interest and ensure that we have answered all of your queries.

Your personal data such as name, addresse and phone number will be taken. In order to initiate driving tuition, a copy of your provisional driving liscence will be requested. This data including your photo, name, address, date of birth and provisional driving licence number will be kept whilst you are a client of Assured Learning Driving School. We will only keep your data for as long as is necessary.

And once you have passed your driving test or are no longer an Assured Learning Driving School client, we will no longer keep your information.  

Your data will be kept on our tablet computer and smartphone. Our devices will have fingerprint identity security or be password protected. We will never share or disclose your data to any third parties without your prior consent. If any hard paper copies from your training or reflections are kept, then these will be kept locked overnight or are in the car with your instructor during the day.  

We do not collect any personal data about you for example, details about your race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life, sexual orientation, political opinions, trade union membership or information about your health. Neither do we collect any information about criminal convictions and offences.  

 
How we use your data 

We may use your information to respond to your enquiry and to provide our services to you. This includes your driving lessons and taking payments. We may also use your data to contact you. 

Upon passing your driving test it is our standard practice to request a testimonial, google review and/or photograph which will be placed on both our website and social media pages such as Facebook and Instagram. This will usually include your first name but will not include any other personal data such as surname or driving licence details. It is your absolute right to refuse to have a photo taken and/or to not have your name shared. Please ensure you inform your driving instructor if you do not want to have your photograph or name put on our social media pages and/or website.

If you DO NOT inform your instructor, then Assured Learning Driving School will assume you have given implied consent and your image, and first name will be used. 

We don’t use card machines. Online bank payments are made into your instructor’s bank account, so we do not have your personal banking details. If your bank details are required, for example a refund, this will be used for the sole purpose of this action. Once you have passed your test or are no longer an Assured Learning client, we will no longer keep your information. 

Your Rights 

Under GDPR law, you have the right to access any personal information which Assured Learning Driving School holds about you. You can request information from us about any personal data which we hold about you, to whom it has been disclosed, our purpose for holding this information and how long we will hold your information at any time.  

We will respect your privacy at all times. We will not disclose any of your personal data without your consent, unless required by law to do so. 

If your data is lost or stolen, you will be informed as soon as possible. All passwords to where this information is stored will be changed immediately.
